How to Get Rid of Acne on the Body
Body acne occurs when pores get clogged from extra sebum, the oil produced to moisturize the body and attract bacteria. The condition can also be caused from wearing tight clothing or carrying a heavy bag which results in skin irritation. Body acne can be difficult to get rid of since there are more surface oils in this area and the skin is thicker which makes it more resistant to treatments. It creates a problem in warm weather when wearing tank tops, sleeveless or backless dresses and bathing suits are the norm.
Instructions
1
The first step to get rid of backne is to exfoliate. Clean the area with a gentle, mild soap. You can use a sugar scrub, loofah, washcloth. Also baking soda makes an effective and inexpensive exfoliator. Mix three parts baking soda to one part water for this treatment. It creates a thick paste that can be used to scrub the skin. It is important to discontinue any product that causes irritation. Also make sure you do not over-exfoliate since that can chafe the skin and create more problems.
2
The next step to treat acne is to use a good toner to clear up skin and keep it clean. You can use lemon or witch hazel for combination skin and 3% Hydrogon Peroxide for oily skin. In severe cases rubbing alcohol can be used, however, this can really dry the skin out so caution should be used.
3
Choose a toner or cream containing Benzoyl Peroxide or Salicylic Acid. Another ideal choice in banishing bacne is 4% Niacinomide. This solution contains Vitamin B3 and Niacin and is gentle on the skin.
4
Maintaining an effective treatment is key. It may take time to completely cure but it should improve as time goes one.
