Question by yssupkcusi: Do you believe the government will pay for your travel expenses to receive medical care?
When you can’t afford to pay for health care and universal healthcare kicks in and you are told to travel across the globe to receive care because that’s where your government tells you to go for it and you can’t afford to travel great distances for it do you think your government is going to pay your way to receive such treatments?

I know in Canada, if you need treatment for a medical condition and it isn’t offered in your area (say you live in a rural area without a large hospital), your traveling expenses are reimbursed by the government after you have incurred those expenses. I know some things aren’t covered, like if you choose to leave the country for medical treatments, and those treatments are offered in the country, they won’t reimburse you for that. And I am aware of a person with cancer, who is going to Germany for stem-cell treatment that is not available in Canada and is not being reimbursed because the government doesn’t think the science is proven enough to be effective, so they are considering it elective treatment. I don’t think your talking about Canada though, I think your talking about the US, and I don’t think it makes any sense to speculate about things that haven’t even occurred yet, or might not even happen.
